NOON & EVES

a collaboration in sustainable garden design

I work closely with fellow garden designer and plants woman, Kate Eves.

We met while completing our Garden Design Diploma at the Norfolk School of Gardening. Our partnership is driven by a shared, passion for Norfolk heritage, artisan craftsmanship and naturalistic planting. We are inspired everyday by plants and the outside world.

Our aim is to empower gardeners to create impactful, nature-restoring spaces. Together we create sustainable, plant rich designs that are kind to the planet and are beneficial to animals, insects and the client.

‘The Norfolk Weave Border: Kind to Soil, Nature and Soul’

Inspired by the beauty of North Norfolk’s traditional crafts and heritage, this border takes visitors on a journey from inland wildflower meadows and tangled hedgerows to windswept dunes. The garden’s theme is Natural Resilience, moving away from traditional flat surfaces to incorporate mounded berms and shallow swales. This design element slows and retains rainwater to survive summer droughts and sudden heavy downpours. These features are built using reclaimed red bricks, a nod to the iconic decorative chimneys of Norfolk’s stately homes.

A central willow-woven planter anchors the design, hosting a dwarf Scots Pine shrub, while a low "crinkle-crankle" hurdle weaves through the border. The naturalistic planting combines wildflowers and resilient species creating a mosaic of varied textures inspired by the coast and meadow, specifically chosen to boost soil health, biodiversity and support pollinators.

Kate Eves

My journey into garden making began in the soil of my own garden. After more than a decade in marketing, the transition into motherhood brought a profound shift in my perspective. During a period of anxiety, I found that tending to my garden was the only thing that truly grounded me. It was in those quiet moments of weeding, planting, and watching life unfold that I discovered the immense, restorative power of nature.

To turn this passion into a profession, I spent the last five years working as a professional gardener while undertaking formal training. I hold an RHS Diploma and graduated with Distinction in Garden Design from the Norfolk School of Gardening. This combination of hands-on horticultural experience and design skills allows me to bridge the gap between creative vision and practical reality. More recently, I have been developing my design practice, completing several projects across North Norfolk.

This lived experience is the heartbeat of my design process. I create "nature-kind" gardens that prioritise soil health, biodiversity, and regenerative growth, believing that when we provide space for nature to thrive, we create a reciprocal relationship: as we care for a garden, it cares for us. Whether through a pollinator-friendly border or the tactile feel of healthy soil, my goal is to design soulful, sustainable gardens that bring the same peace and restorative joy to my clients that I first found in my own garden.
